The Sharpe Gallery, a fine arts gallery, opened in Kennebunk Lower Village on Memorial Day weekend 2011. The gallery features emerging and established artists. The main focus of the gallery is abstract and impressionist works of art in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor and gouache. Yet, similarly to an artist’s evolving creative style, the gallery, too, is open to change. The gallery space is airy and filled with natural light, providing for an optimum place to showcase works of art.
Owner Tracey Sharpe is originally from California, but has spent most of her life in New England and has been a resident of Kennebunkport since 2007. Her passion for art stems from her original desire to be an artist. Since her career veered to one in the financial industry rather than as an artist, she opened a gallery to support those who are pursuing their dream by providing a means to exhibit their work.
The Sharpe Gallery was profiled in Boston's WCVB-TV news program, Chronicle in a video about the appeal of the Kennebunks.
